Louis held a National Diploma for Technicians, a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a National Diploma in Safety Management as well as a National Higher Diploma in Post School Education.
In 1991 he developed the first Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, which was accredited by the HSRC as an "M+4" qualification.
Louis was a recognized educationist and consultant who specialized in legislation applicable to Occupational Health and Safety Management. He presented more than 500 seminars for Top Management in Southern Africa. He was a full member of the Institute of Safety Management (IoSM)
He has trained more than 35 000 Safety, Health, and Environmental practitioners within the last 25 years. He was honored to be asked to write the overview and comments on the OHS Act in the 1997, 1999 to 2010 editions of the BUSINESS BLUE-BOOK OF SOUTH AFRICA.
